Oofta it has been raining so much here in the woods near Moose Lake, Minnesota! Today I finally had a chance to get out into the yard and it appears a huge fungus deep in the earth has spit out some baby fungi. Mushrooms are popping up everywhere. And of course you know what that means…gnomes. I searched my flower garden and found one of them hunting and gathering. I wouldn’t dare eat one of these…but my grandma says the gnomes love em, you betcha.
Funny thing, I shot five pictures of that gnome and I cannot load his picture onto this blog. Maybe there is somethingto their magic?

gotcha!

Today took a walk in my yard with my digital camera. Oofta these cameras are pretty amazing. I just put it on best shot for flowers and started snapping away. Of course, I had to delete several before I took some good enough to keep. Keepers remain on my camera.
All in all, as they say in the Northland today was “not to bad!”

I am amazed how people hide behind their computers…quick to spew hate and anger. Anonymity has its place. AA meetings, donations, good deeds. But when it is used to spew lies about presidential candidates, high school students, bosses and co-workers it becomes the weapon of cowards. When I was a kid, we used to sing…”sticks and stones may break our bones, but words will never harm me.” Much older and wiser I now know I can heal from broken bones. The trauma of lies lives for ever.
My question today is how can anyone fight rumors without knowing the source? How do you take back the pain lies deliver?
Oofta what have we become as human beings? Why are we so eager to buy into lies, rumor, and the hatred of others?
